Singer, songwriter and pianist Jenny Bray launches her South Wales tour, The King of Pontrhydyfen, this autumn, celebrating the centenary of legendary Welsh actor Richard Burton. Beginning October 30 at Swansea’s Dylan Thomas Theatre and concluding November 15 at Afan Ales, Port Talbot, the tour features Jenny’s original tribute song, Mr J (Jenkins) – a heartfelt homage to Burton’s life and legacy.
Jenny’s personal connection to the actor runs deep: as a young girl, she played on Richard Burton’s own piano, sparking a lifelong passion for music. Her creative tribute extends beyond song; she also penned an original poem published in Poems for Rich. Following its debut at the collection’s launch last August, Jenny will perform Mr J once more in Burton’s hometown on November 10, his birthday.
